Cinderella Pantomime at The Octagon Theatre2006/2007
Pictured above are eight of the lucky children from The Helen Laxton School of Dance who were chosen to appear in the professional pantomime "Cinderella" at The Octagon Theatre in December 2006. A total of 18 junior dancers appeared during the run of the show plus two senior dancers, Hannah Ingham and Emilie Woan. The pantomime is always a great experience for the children, they have lots of fun and get to experience a real working theatrical environment.
PANTOMIME 2005
Pictured are some of the children who appeared in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil. The children played the roles of villagers, dancers and animals and also the lovely dwarfs. PANTOMIME 2004 Pictured are the eighteen children who successfully auditioned for a part in Aladdin, the professional pantomime which will be running form December 18th 2004 - January 8th 2005. The children will be working alongside a talented company of professional actors, singers and dancers. Three senior pupils, Amelia White, Charlotte Gardiner and Hannah Ingham were also successful in their auditions and will be working as senior dancers throughout the pantomime season.
The lucky pupils from The Helen Laxton School of Dance who appeared alongside the professional cast in "Dick Whittington" at The Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, Christmas 2003. For their audition the children had to learn a jazz dance routine choreographed by Catherine Yelling, who as well as being the school's head of Modern Dance also acts as Matron for the children during the run of the pantomime. The above children were split into two teams of eight with one swing and they performed on alternate days from 13th December 2003 to 4th January 2004. Pictured below is the Red Team in costume on their final performance. Charlotte Gardiner, a 15 year old pupil of the school also successfully auditioned for a part as a senior dancer and with three other local dancers joined the professional dancers and performed throughout the run of the pantomime. Hannah Nitti aged 15 was chosen to play "Tommy" the cat in Dick Whittington. Hannah had to dance and act at the audition and was delighted to be given the chance to work with a professional company. Another pupil from the school, Emilie Woan was chosen to understudy the part of the cat. Well done to everybody performing in Dick Whittington!!! For More Information Contact: |
